On Tuesday, the PC46 Police Unit of Da Nang’s Police Department arrested 36-year-old Huynh Dac Lam from Hai Chau District.  

Leaders of the PC46 Police Unit said that on 12 July 2013 their unit received denunciations from Ms Ngo Thi Chung Hien and Ms Luu Thi Loan who live in Yen Bai Street, Ms Ta Thi Ngoc in Tran Binh Trong Street, Ms Cao Thi Huyen in Le Dinh Duong Street, and Ms Le Thi Oanh Em from Son Tra District’s Man Thai Ward.  They had denounced Lam for defrauding a total of 113 million VND from them when he was helping them to seek apartments for low-income earners.

After their investigation, the police had gathered enough evidence to prosecute Lam for “defrauding money and appropriating property” under Article 139 of the Vietnamese Penal Code.
