Ensuring a safe and joyful Mid-autumn Festival
Following instructions from the Da Nang authorities, local relevant agencies and departments will make every effort to ensure that local children will enjoy a safe and joyful Mid-autumn Festival, which this year falls on 19 September.
The focus will be on raising funds to donate gifts to local poor, disadvantaged and ethinic minority children in order to encourage them to study better in the new academic year.
In addition, the local Department of Health has been asked to increase its checks and tighten its monitoring of food safety and hygiene at mooncake-making establishments and confectionery stores during the build up to the festival.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also been urged to conduct regular inspections to identify and deal with any shops which are selling cultural products and toys which are hazardous, violence-oriented and inappropriate for children.
The Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs will work with the Hoa Vang authorities to hold a festival night entitled “The Cherishable Moon” for the district’s 350 poor and ethinic minority children.
