The Economic Security Office of the Da Nang Police Department recently imposed an administrative fine on a man from Hai Chau District who had created a fake Facebook account in order to insult another person.  The man, identified only at TTN, was fined 10 million VND under Point d, Clause 5, Article 6 of central government Decree No 63/2007/ND-CP.

The man was a former employee at the Viet Nam-Czech Company located at 216 Dien Bien Phu Street.  During his time working at the company, he often contradicted the company’s director, Mr Nguyen Thanh Truong.

In revenge for his dismissal, the man created a Facebook account named “Truong Nguyen Thanh” on which he posted offensive photos, made-up contents, and false information in order to smear the reputation of Director Truong and lower his prestige.
