Local judicial reform reviewed
On Tuesday, the Chief Judge of Viet Nam's Supreme People's Court, Mr Truong Hoa Binh, and some leaders of the Da Nang People's Court reviewed the city’s implementation over the past 8 years of Politburo Resolution 49-NQ/TW on the judicial reform strategy to 2020.
During the review period, the Da Nang People's Court has witnessed positive achievements in the organisation of trials. In particular, their juries have always listened to defendants carefully and evaluated them with objective attitudes, and have not judged them based on their indictments.
In addition, the court’s judgments were made based on public and objective results of litigation. The judges and jurors of the People's Court strictly complied with Vietnamese laws.
Between 2010 and 2013, the court has stepped up the handling procedures at its trials. Most notably, no cases of false accusations or absent offenders have been reported since 2005.
