Promoting the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions

As part of celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of Viet Nam-Japan diplomatic ties, the Da Nang representative office in Tokyo recently held a discussion about developing an extensive Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) in the city.
The purpose of the JCM is to encourage the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to promote sustainable development in developing countries through applications of advanced low-emission technologies.
Recent years have seen positive results from bilateral cooperative programmes in business, culture, tourism and other aspects between Da Nang and Japanese cities such as Kawasaki, Sakai, Mitsuke, Nagasaki and Yokohama. To date, the city has attracted 90 Japanese projects worth 400 million USD.
