Central coast needs to prepare for powerful storm
Early this morning, tropical storm Krosa passed over Luzon Island in the Philippines and entered the north-eastern part of the East Sea. It is predicted to strike the central coast provinces of Viet Nam on Monday 4 November.
Over the next 24 hours, the storm is expected to move in a westerly or north-westerly direction at a speed of about 20kph.
By 10am tomorrow, 2 November, the storm should be positioned at latitude 19°1’N longitude 114°5’E, about 360km east-northeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago.

Over the following 24 to 48 hours, it is forecast to move at a speed of about 15kph in a westerly direction, and it might change to a more south-westerly direction.
By 10am on 3 November, the storm’s position should be at latitude 18°1’N and longitude 111°1’E, about 380km east-northeast of the coastal areas from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces.
Due to the effects of the storm, the north-eastern parts of the East Sea are experiencing strong winds at level 11/12 and rough seas.
