Da Nang leads one category in 2012 Justice Index
A ceremony to introduce the 2012 Justice Index took place in Da Nang on Wednesday. The event was co-organised by the Viet Nam Lawyers’ Association, the United Nations Development Programme in Viet Nam, and the Centre for Community Support Development Studies.
The 2012 Justice Index is a new tool to monitor and assess the efficiency of operations of the judiciary agencies at provincial level.
The index is based on 5 dimensions of law enforcement and justice administration. These are accessibility, equity, integrity, reliability and efficiency, and the guarantee of fundamental rights.
According to the 2012 results, Da Nang took the lead in the accessibility category which reflects people’s satisfaction with access to the city’s public administrative and legal services. The results came from a random survey of over 5,000 people living in 21 provinces and cities across the country.
