The Director of the Da Nang General Hospital, Dr Tran Ngoc Thanh, has reported that the hospital’s doctors performed successful emergency surgery on a 19-year-old student from the city’s University of Technology.

At noon on 26 October, the student was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition with tightness in his chest and shortness of breath.

With the help of the advanced digital subtraction angiography (DSA) machine, he was diagnosed with a ruptured aneurysm of the right non-coronary sinus of valsalva.  As a result, the hospital’s doctors decided to perform an urgent 4-hour operation to save the patient’s life, and he is now recovering well.

Another local student was recently discharged from the hospital after receiving life-saving surgery from the hospital’s doctors.  He had been rushed to the hospital suffering from stomachache, haematemesis, gastro-intestinal bleeding, and a loss of blood.  He was diagnosed with ruptured small branches of the left hepatic artery and the doctors operated to cure the problem.
