Plan to build trip boat piers alongside Han River
At a meeting held in Da Nang on Friday to assess 22 planning projects and their architectural designs, the city’s leaders agreed to the building of a complex alongside the Han River which will include a pier for trip boats and a tourism services area.
The current Da Nang Port area, on the west bank of the river, will be divided into 4 functional zones. There will be an 11,000m2 riverside park, a 7,700m2 tourism services area, a 3,592m2 passenger pick-up area for trip boats, and a 2,755m2 vehicle parking area in front of the Novotel. Linking these areas will be a 9m-wide riverside pedestrian promenade.

In addition, a trip boat pier, a restaurant and a parking area will be built on an area of 24,500m2 at the Thuan Phuoc wharf.
Initial approval has also been given for the Da Nang Housing Development Joint Stock Company (DHC) to build a trip boat pier on the eastern side of the Han River. The company has pledged that the pier will come into use after a 3-month construction period.
