Storm victims receive more aid
The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Viet Nam recently presented gifts totalling 42 million VND to 70 families in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Phong Ward who had been badly affected by the recent storm. Each gift consisted of 400,000 VND in cash, 5kg of rice, a blanket and a mosquito net. Since the storms Wutip and Nari, the company has donated 450 million VND in total to help victims in the central provinces.
On Sunday, a group from Gia Lam Thien Sanh Pagoda, and some other benefactors, all from Dong Nai Province, visited and gave scholarships to 153 local pupils who were from families affected by typhoon Chanchu in 2006. Each received between 500,000 VND and 1,500,000 VND.
On Monday afternoon, the Viet Nam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation donated 100 million VND to help the city’s Storm Nari victims. The money had been raised from the company's employees. Since Storm Nari hit, the city has received 8.3 billion VND from domestic and foreign donors to help local victims.
