Climate change mitigation project discussed
A discussion took place in the city on Tuesday morning about the implementation of the “Da Nang Climate Change Mitigation Benefits” (DaCliMB) project.
The event was co-organised by the Office of Da Nang's Steering Committee for Response to Climate Change and Sea Level Rises (CCCO Da Nang), the French Development Agency (AFD), and France’s Asconit Consultants.
An overview of the meeting |
Funded by the AFD, the 136,000 euro project started in October 2013 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2014. It is being implemented by the CCCO Da Nang under the consultancy of Asconit Consultants. The purpose is to provide technical assistance for local families and businesses to create action plans to cope with climate change.
The project is divided into 3 stages, the first of which focuses on assessing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The second stage will identify mitigation goals and implement pilot projects, and the last will expand the scope of the project’s application.
