Exchanging experiences and professional skills in health
On Wednesday, as part of the 2014 Pacific Partnership programme, doctors from Japan, Australia and the USA exchanged their experiences and professional skills in healthcare with their colleagues from the Da Nang General, the Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, and the Military C17 hospitals. The aim was to help the local hospitals to improve the quality of their medical examinations and treatment for patients.
Topics included advanced emergency aid, clinical care, pharmacy and toxicology, laser treatment for burns victims with contracture scars, physical medicine, physiotherapy, articulation, and anaesthesia.
On the same day, foreign construction workers, electricians, and engineers from the Japanese landing ship JS Kunisaki became actively involved in repairing and upgrading the Hoa Quy Medical Station in Ngu Hanh Son District, and the city’s Orphan Care Centre. The medical station is expected to be operational by Saturday 14 June.
The ship’s crew members will participate in sports exchange activities with students from the University of Da Nang at 9.00am on Saturday 14 June at the Physical Education Centre, 62 Ngo Sy Lien Street. In addition, there will be a musical performance by the US Navy’s 7th Fleet Band's Orient Express at 6.30pm this Saturday at Son Tra District’s Eastern Sea Park.
