On Tuesday evening, the steel-hulled fishing boat SANG FISH 01 made its first trip out to the Hoang Sa fishing grounds.  The newly-built boat is jointly owned by 30-year-old Le Van Sang from Da Nang’s Hai Chau District, and fisherman Phan Be from Quang Ngai Province’s Duc Pho District.

The boat can supply offshore fishermen with up to 17,000 litres of fuel, 7,000 fish baskets, and ice, which are together worth over 300 million VND.  After this first trip, the boat will make other journeys to catch seafood as well as supply necessary provisions for fishing boats already operating at sea.

SANG FISH 01 is installed with modern equipment such as a Global Positioning System (GPS), radar and long-distance communication systems, a maritime information machine, equipment for communicating with other boats, and VHS radio.  The boat also has the latest seafood preservation system, and it has 6 seafood storage holds.
