Reminder about motorcycle helmet regulations

DA NANG Today
Published: July 02, 2014

On Tuesday, Da Nang’s traffic police officers started their first day of patrols and checks on motorcycle helmets worn by local road users.  During the day, they found around 150 violations but fines were not imposed.  Instead, the wearers were reminded about wearing helmets which are improperly fastened or do not meet the national technical standards.  The traffic police officers also taught these violators how to choose properly certified quality helmets.

On the same day, the city’s traffic police widely publicised the national technical regulations relating to motorcycle helmets on local major streets and in residential and public areas.  The purpose was to encourage local residents to use safe and quality helmets in order to protect themselves and their companions in case of unexpected traffic accidents.  A focus was also on sending announcements relating to the trading of helmets to those who are involved in making and selling helmets in the city, as well as requesting them to strictly comply with the State's regulations on motorcycle helmets.
