Express delivery of identity cards launched
On Thursday, the Da Nang Post Office and the municipal Department of Police jointly launched an express mail service (EMS) to deliver identity (ID) cards.
It will only take 1 day to deliver the local police-issued ID cards to addresses in the local urban areas, and 2 days to rural Hoa Vang District. The recipients from inside and outside the city will have to pay delivery fees of 15,000 VND and 20,000 VND respectively.
The Head of the Social Order Management Division under the city’s Department of Police, Colonel Tran Viet Lieu, said that his unit has shortened the time for issuing newly-issued and re-issued ID cards to only 10 and 15 days respectively. He added that the time for ID card issuance procedures will now be shortened by an additional 2 days through the introduction of the EMS service.
The city’s Immigration Management Office and the Social Order Management Division are the first local agencies to use EMS to deliver administrative dossiers and related papers to their recipients.
