Illegal pavement encroachment
Dozens of coffee shops and bistros along Ngo Quyen, Pham Van Dong, Vo Van Kiet and Vo Nguyen Giap streets in Da Nang are encroaching onto streetside pavements by illegally placing their tables and chairs and parking their customers’ vehicles on them. In addition, the bistros have employees who stand in the roadway to try to persuade customers to come into their restaurants. This causes traffic chaos and makes the areas dangerous for road users.
In particular, the encroachment onto pavements at the T-junctions of Ngo Quyen and Pham Van Dong streets, and Vo Van Kiet and Vo Nguyen Giap streets, leads to pedestrians spilling onto the roads, and hides the view for road users. This badly affects the movement of traffic.

In an attempt to ensure traffic order and safety along these roads, the city authorities have recently asked Son Tra District’s leaders to take effective measures to effectively deal with this encroachment onto these pavements.
