Over the past 5 years, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO) has gained positive results from its people-to-people exchange activities. 

In particular, DAFO has worked closely with local agencies and departments to carry out over 500 international non-profit projects, worth more than 35 million USD in total.  These projects focused on healthcare, education, environmental protection and other aspects, as well as on helping local disabled people and Agent Orange victims.

To date, DAFO and its member organisations have established friendship relationships with 57 people’s organisations from 18 countries and territories worldwide.

Every year, DAFO joins efforts with local relevant agencies to make plans for implementing people-to-people exchanges in accordance with the city’s foreign affairs policies.

In the 2014 - 2019 period, DAFO will make every effort to promote the important role of local districts, departments and agencies in people-to-people exchanges.  The emphasis will be on maintaining, consolidating and bolstering the bilateral friendships and cooperative relationships with neighbouring countries, ASEAN member nations and strategic partners.
