Since the start of this year, 1,373 hand, foot and mouth (HFM) disease cases have been recorded in Da Nang, a decrease of 1,106 cases against the same period last year. 

Over the past 2 months in particular, the city has seen a 50%  decrease in the number of HFM disease-affected patients compared with the same 2 months last year.

The Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital is now treating 80 HFM-infected children, of whom 20 are from neighbouring localities.
