Rebuilding of Da Nang General Science Library starts
The rebuilding of the Da Nang General Science Library at 46 Bach Dang Street started on Saturday, and it is expected to be completed in August 2015.
At a cost of around 42.5 billion VND, the library rebuild will incorporate a 2,747m2 2-storey library area and a 497m2 2-storey administration building. The 1st floor of the library area will feature 6 rooms, including reading and reference rooms, whilst the 2nd floor is designated for a meeting hall, a book borrowing room, a main reading room, and a room for reading newspapers and magazines. In addition, there will be a coffee shop in the library’s 574m2 outdoor area, facing towards the Han River.

Meanwhile, the administration building will offer work space for the library’s staff members as well as providing readers with necessary services. The existing room designated for the library’s French Club will be kept unchanged. All the existing old trees in the elevated area facing towards the Han River will be kept.
The new library is expected to become one of the city’s key cultural works to mark next year’s 21st Congress of the municipal Party Committee.
