On Tuesday morning, the Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, made an inspection visit to the construction site of the Hue T-junction overpass.

The project’s contractors said that about 85% of the construction work has so far been completed.  In particular, the main concrete tower has been finished, along with over 80% of the second-level of the roundabout.  70% of the construction of the approach roads on Dien Bien Phu and Ton Duc Thang streets has also been completed.

The contractors pledged that the overpass will be completed on schedule.  To meet the deadline, they are doing their utmost to complete this month the pouring of concrete for the 180m cable-stayed spans, and the joining of the main spans of the lowest level roundabout. 

A focus will be on completing the building of the approach roads on Ton Duc Thang Street by 30 December, on Dien Bien Phu Street by 5 January 2015, and on the northwest side of the city by 15 February 2015.  The roundabout is scheduled to be completed by 15 January 2015, and all overpass piers and cable-stayed spans by 5 March 2015.  Then, all attention will be on completing the remaining items in preparation for the scheduled inauguration on 29 March 2015.
