As of Monday, the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Mitigation and Control, Search and Rescue from the provinces of Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa had informed a total of 167,415 fishermen on 48,652 fishing vessels at sea about Storm Kujira's developments and movements. 

Of these, 107 vessels were operating at the Hoang Sa (Paracel) waters whilst most of the rest were involved in inshore fishing activities.

According to the Da Nang Border Guard High Command, nearly all of the city’s fishing vessels have already berthed in local storm shelters.  The remainder, which were operating in the coastal areas off Hai Phong City and in the Tokin Gulf, have also sought safe shelter from the storm.
