According to the Deputy Chief cum Chief Secretary of Da Nang’s Buddhist Sangha, the Most Venerable Thich Thong Dao, pagodas across the city were actively involved in local charitable activities during the week of Buddha's 2559^th birthday between 25 May and 1 June. 

The focus was on helping local poor people to build new houses, donating means of livelihood and personal support tools for disabled people, and other meaningful activities.  The total expenditure on the charitable work was around 9 billion VND.

During last year, the city’s Buddhist Sangha funded the construction of new houses for 25 local poor families and gave assistance to people in difficult circumstances, at a total cost of over 17.2 billion VND.
