Da Nang Journalists' Association holds its 8th Congress

On Tuesday, the 8th Congress of the Da Nang Journalists’ Association in the 2015 - 2020 tenure took place in the meeting hall of the municipal People's Council, 42 Bach Dang Street.

Over the 2010 - 2015 tenure, the Association’s reporters made great efforts to improve their professional skills and ensure good moral qualities.  The Association now has 230 members in total.

Over the past 5 years, a total of 97 items by local reporters were submitted to the national journalism awards.  Of them, 40 were selected for the final rounds and 14 won prizes, including 4 B and C, and 3 consolation prizes.

With regard to the key tasks for the 2015 - 2020 tenure, the focus will be on widely publicising the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State and the city.  Heed will be paid to enhancing the quality of publicity from local media agencies in order for them to deserve their assigned role as pioneers in publicising the guidelines and policies of the Party.  Main tasks will be also identified to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Association in the years ahead.

To mark the occasion, the municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary, Mr Vo Cong Tri, presented a Third-class Labour Medal from the State President and the laudatory banner with the written words ‘Creativity - Responsibility - Professionalism’ to the local Journalists’ Association.
