Demand for recruitment increases, but few job seekers accepted
Recently, jobs fairs in Da Nang have attracted a large number of businesses seeking new recruits and also many job seekers.
In particular, a jobs fair held at the city’s Employment Service Centre on 10 June attracted 82 local businesses offering over 1,000 job opportunities. The jobs were mainly for customer care and marketing staff, receptionists, drivers, and sales people. Successful recruits could earn an average monthly income of 5 million VND and enjoy preferential policies, including bonuses and housing rental subsidies. However, only 300 people were recruited at this fair.
Earlier, on 1 June, 78 local businesses had offered about 957 job opportunities at a jobs fair at the city’s International Exhibition Fair Centre. They only recruited just over 200 people.
The main reason for these disappointing results seems to be that the majority of local job seekers have yet to meet the requirements of recruiters.
Some local labour experts advise that, in addition to gaining professional skills, job seekers should improve such soft skills as interpersonal communication, teamwork spirit, and skills in writing job applications and in sending emails to recruiters.
