As of last night, no cases of MERS-CoV have been recorded in Viet Nam after three suspected cases tested negative. However, the Ministry of Health warned about the high risk of MERS-Cov entering Viet Nam and developing into an epidemic.
The Minister of Health, Mrs Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, said that at least 100,000 Vietnamese people are living in South Korea, whilst a community of Korean businesspeople and tourists are living and working in Viet Nam. She therefore stressed the need for health sectors nationwide to enhance their close monitoring and ensure early detection in order to prevent any possible outbreak from occurring in the country.
