The launch ceremony for the 2015 summer volunteer campaign took place in Da Nang last Saturday.  The campaign takes ‘The Youth from the University of Da Nang Respond to the Year for Culture and Urban Civilisation and Join Efforts to Implement the Rural Area Upgrade Programme’ as its theme.

This year’s campaign will feature 3 main programmes - Giving Strength in the Exam Season, Giving Strength to Schooling, and Joining Efforts for the Community.

Around 1,500 volunteers from the member schools of the University will take part in the Giving Strength in the Exam Season programme, and a socio-economic development programme in poor areas in the city and the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Kon Tum.  In addition, they will become actively involved in ensuring environmental hygiene in their schools and residential areas, and encouraging local youth union members and young people to implement traffic culture.

5,400 cheap lodging places will be provided in the city’s student halls of residence for exam candidates and their relatives coming to the national exam for high school pupils in the city from across the country.  A total of 500 free meals and 4,000 free water bottles, which will be funded by the city’s Youth Union, will be provided for them.
