Switchover to digital television to be postponed until 1 October
Following recent approval from the Da Nang authorities, the digital broadcasting of all TV channels across the city, which was scheduled to begin by late in this second quarter, will be postponed until 1 October.
Currently, Da Nang Radio and Television (DRT) is analogue terrestrial and digital broadcasting its DRT2 channel, which specialises in reporting local current affairs, the city’s socio-economic development, its defense and security. Starting from 1 July, it will also digitally broadcast the DRT1 channel daily in the city.

Analogue terrestrial broadcasting of the Viet Nam Television channel VTV 6 and all of the VTV Da Nang channels is now being continued in the city.
The municipal Department of Information and Communications and the VTV Transmission Centre will start operating digital broadcasting stations in the Hoa Son and Hoa Bac communes in Hoa Vang District next month.
Free-of-charge digital compatible devices, which decode digital TV signals, will be provided for local households living below or near the national poverty threshold, along with poor social policy families. All of them have no digital TVs and no access to cable TV or Internet services.
