The Da Nang People's Committee recently asked local relevant agencies to take effective measures to prevent any outbreaks of diseases in summer from occurring in the city.

The municipal Department of Health will increase its checks and controls over areas at high risk of outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease, dengue fever and Japanese encephalitis in order to effectively handle any future disease outbreak as well as prevent the risk of spreading infectious diseases.

Importance will be attached to increasing the checks and monitoring of local instant food production establishments, kitchen facilities, beverage trading establishments and others.  Special attention will be paid to widely publicising any cases of violations relating to the city’s food safety and hygiene regulations in the mass media. 

Priority will be given to coping with human-to-human transmission of infectious diseases in order to minimise the number of fatal cases.  Heed will be paid to providing sufficient supplies of medicines, medical equipment and chemicals for the Department’s mobile emergency teams who will get ready for giving a well-timed help to local medical stations if necessary.
