Following approval from the Da Nang leaders on Wednesday, the city’s Cancer Hospital will become a public medical establishment by 2 September, under the management of the municipal Department of Health.

In addition, the Oncology Department at the Da Nang General Hospital will be integrated into the Cancer Hospital.

Since its establishment in January 2013, the Cancer Hospital has received funds from the budgets of the State and the city, and donations from both domestic and international organisations and individuals, to maintain its operation.  However, the hospital has faced some difficulties in ensuring the balance of its budget collection and spending, plus the State’s budget will stop providing funds to non-public hospitals in the near future.
