As from 1 November 2014, Mogas 92 petrol has been replaced by E5 bio-fuel, which is a blend of 5% ethanol and 95% petrol, and only Mogas 95 and the E5 bio-fuel have been allowed to be sold at filling stations across Da Nang.

So far, the total consumption of E5 bio-fuel in the city has hit around 25,614m³, accounting for about 50% of the local total consumption of petrol.

The Da Nang People’s Committee recently urged the municipal Department of Trade and Industry to join efforts with the Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Group and wholesale petrol distributors to become more actively involved in boosting the sales of E5 bio-fuel.  In addition, local media agencies has been asked to publicise the benefits of this environmental-friendly fuel and encourage more local residents to use it in accordance with the State's guidelines.
