Local poor children to get $800,000 aid to improve life
World Vision International in Viet Nam will support Da Nang in improving vulnerable children’s nutrition and life skills, as well as the youth’s accessibility to jobs, under a series of four projects, the relief organisation said Tuesday.
The support program will be implemented in four wards in Son Tra District, with a budget of US$800,000 allocated for the first three-year phase ending 2018.
The first phase includes four main projects, namely Child Care and Education, Future Opportunities for Youths, Child Sponsorship and Protection, and Resilience to Climate Change and Disaster Risks, according to the organisation.

World Vision said it will conduct a series of activities such as training sessions on knowledge and skills of healthcare, child nutrition and protection for health staff, collaborators, teachers, mothers and caregivers.
The program is also aimed at providing youngsters aged 19-24 who live in difficult conditions with vocational training, helping them start their own business, and connecting employers and vocational training centers to assist trained youngsters in landing jobs.
World Vision is operating 40 area development programs and 16 special projects in 15 provinces across the country, having granted some $300 million worth of aid to the country in the past 25 years.
