A musical event, entitled ‘Spring of Love’, took place at Da Nang’s Trung Vuong Theatre on 31 January during which gifts were presented to 1,000 poor families to help them enjoy a warm and happy Tet. 

The money to buy these gifts came from donations from generous donors in response to the ‘Joining Efforts to Help Poor People to Celebrate Tet’ programme, which was launched by the muncipal Fatherland Front Committee last month.

The committee received numerous donations from generous individuals, organisations and businesses.  Most notably, the family of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc donated 200 million VND, the 79 Construction Company 500 million VND, Sanouva Ho Chi Minh City Hotel 500 million VND, and Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Company 300 million VND. 

In addition, the city’s branch of the Viet Nam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) gave 700 million VND, whilst branches of the Viet Nam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) and the Bank for Foreign Trade of Viet Nam (Vietcombank) each donated 500 million VND.
