Last Saturday, rescue ship SAR 412 from the Da Nang Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Da Nang MRCC) was sent out to help the 20 crew members on board cargo ship Ha Tien 01 which was at risk of sinking due to a leak in its engine room. The ship, owned by the Binh Minh International Sunrise Shipping Company, was en route from Nghe An to Dong Nai carrying 6,400 tons of clinker and at the time it was about 55 nautical miles off the Da Nang coast.
At 6.30pm the anxious crew had sent out an SOS message, and by 9.55pm the rescue ship had reached them. They were evacuated and brought back safely to Da Nang early the next morning.
