Each of the social policy families who have had their severely-deteriorated houses improved has been given between 5 billion VND and 10 billion VND from the city’s budget. In addition, they have been presented with a 21-inch television, also paid for out of the local budget.
Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, recently said “Over recent years, the city has given top priority to ensuring local social welfare programmes, with a focus on enhancing the spiritual and material lives of the families of people who gave great service in the national revolution. Also, more incentive policies have been issued to help local social policy families increase their living standards”.
The city leader remarked “A total of over 3,000 houses have been refurbished or rebuilt for local social policy beneficiaries over the past 3 years. This positive result is mainly attributed to the joint efforts made by the local authorities and local residents”.
Mr Tri praised local relevant agencies and generous donors for their active involvement in implementing the meaningful housing programme. He took the opportunity to appeal for local organisations, individuals, and people from all walks of life to carry on their efforts, along with the city authorities, to continue implementing such humanitarian activities in order to create a premise for making Da Nang a more prosperous, beautiful, peaceful and civilised city.
