The Prime Minister recently agreed to the introduction, on a trial basis, of open-top double-decker bus services in some of the country’s inner cities.  The pilot project will run for 5 years in 7 cities and provinces: Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Thua Thien-Hue, Lam Dong and Kien Giang.

In addition, high-quality buses with up to 45 seats will be introduced to carry visitors to the airports in these areas.

The Ministry of Transport will work closely with the relevant agencies in these localities to launch the services in accordance with national regulations, and to ensure traffic safety.

After the first 6 months, the Ministry of Transport will review the implementation of the project to gain experience for subsequent pilot schemes.
