The Da Nang Taxation Department has recently issued a warning about fraudsters who are impersonating tax employees over the phone to try to lure local businesspeople into buying tax reference materials. 

A spokesman from the Department affirmed that such impersonation is illegal.  It blights the credibility of the agency and adversely affects the operation of local businesses.  Such criminal offences should be immediately resolved, and heavy punishments should be imposed on the fraudsters.

Local businesses should report any fraudulent phone calls to the police or ring the hotline of the municipal Taxation Department: 0511 3889995.
