Chairman Tho expressed his deep gratitude to her and her family for their devotion to the reunion of the country. He wished her good health, and hoped that she would continue to uphold her family’s traditional patriotism, and encourage her descendants to make even greater efforts for the city’s progress.
On the same day, municipal PC Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh visited the city’s Tho Quang fishing wharf to present Tet gifts to 30 local fishermen. These fishermen were representing the thousands of local fishing families who make offshore trips during the year.

Vice Chairman Minh said that, during last year, the unfavourable weather conditions and the difficulties of maritime security negatively affected the efficiency of the local fishermen. He remarked, however, that the fishermen had had some positive results thanks to their strong determination to fish in Viet Nam’s waters, and the national government’s support policies and actions.
He hoped that the fishermen would continue with their activities long into the future not only to earn their livings but to protect the country’s sacred sovereignty over its sea and islands.
On behalf of the recipients, one fisherman expressed his gratitude to the city leaders for their care over the past year. He also promised to overcome their difficulties and continue their fishing activities to protect the nation’s maritime sovereignty.
