On Thursday, Ms Tran Thu Huyen, the Chief Representative of World Vision International (WVI) in Viet Nam, was presented with a Certificate of Merit from the Da Nang People’s Committee (PC) in recognition of her active involvement in accelerating the city’s socio-economic progress during 2016.

Municipal PC Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung spoke highly of the great efforts made by Ms Huyen, and WVI in Viet Nam as a whole, in developing numerous integrated community development programmes in the city. Under these programmes, the focus has been on ensuring benefits for children, and promoting the development of the local agricultural and medical sectors.
Most notably, a WVI-funded project for developing Hoa Vang District, which was deployed effectively from 2000 and 2016, has helped to improve the living standards of the district’s poor residents.
Ms Huyen expressed her deep gratitude to the city authorities for actively facilitating WVI to implement its meaningful projects in the city over recent years.
She also hoped that the city leaders would continue creating the most favourable conditions for WVI to successfully deploy its humanitarian and social welfare projects in future years.
