Construction of Tran Phu tunnel to be completed by 29 March
To date, 85% of the construction work on the new tunnel project taking Tran Phu under Le Duan has been completed.

The construction of the 40m-long, 7.5m-wide tunnel itself was completed by 20 December 2016.
The building of new drainage, lighting and water supply systems, and the relocation of medium and low voltage lines near the construction site, is also progressing well.

The tunnel’s northern and southern approach roads are expected to be completed by 26 and 27 March respectively. The tunnel is expected to be opened on 29 March to mark the 42nd anniversary of the liberation of the city.
Currently, the project’s construction units and relevant agencies are focusing on bringing more equipment and workers onto the site to hasten progress in a bid to ensure the on-schedule completion of the work.
