Formidable names include Politburo member and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, former ambassador to the EU and Belgium Ton Nu Thi Ninh, founding President of Fulbright University of Viet Nam Dam Bich Thuy, Chairwoman of the Viet Nam Autism Network Hoang Bich Ngoc and Chairwoman and General Director of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company Cao Thi Ngoc Dung.
The list was made based on financial influence, influence, degree of positive impacts and coverage in the media.
Although there are few women holding political positions compared to men, many have gained power. Meanwhile, women have played pioneering roles in business, social activities, science and education.
Together with a ceremony to honour the 50 most influential women in Viet Nam, cultural activities and a cuisine festival have been held within the Women’s Summit 2017.
A discussion on elevating women’s position, seeking the definition of a modern woman and consolidating women’s roles in business were also held at the summit.
