New Tran Phu road tunnel officially opens to traffic
After 7 months of construction, a new tunnel taking Tran Phu under the busy junction with Le Duan officially opened to traffic today (30 April) to mark the 42nd anniversary of National Reunification Day, and Tran Phu returned to being a one-way north to south street.

The tunnel features 2 traffic lanes: one for automobiles and the other for motorbikes.

All types of vehicle, except those over 3.5m-high, are now allowed to use the 40m-long, 7.5m-wide tunnel to travel from the Da Nang Administrative Centre to the intersection of Tran Phu and the western end of the Rong (Dragon) bridge. All the vehicles should follow the traffic signs being placed along Tran Phu.
The exit of the tunnel |
In addition, there are 2 frontage roads, each 7.5m-wide, at both sides of the tunnel, along with 2 pavements up to 3.25m wide.
In detail, the left frontage road allows vehicle users to travel from the Da Nang Administrative Centre towards Bach Bang and the Han River Bridge, whilst the right one allows traffic heading towards the Hue T-junction overpass and the intersection of Tran Phu and the western end of the Rong (Dragon) bridge.
