After the scheme was approved by the Da Nang People’s Committee (PC), the DHTC Da Nang Co Ltd will open the 4.2 billion VND Son Tra Night Market near the Da Nang Marina complex on the eastern bank of the Han River next month.  The opening is scheduled for Saturday 6 May.

The market is located on a section of Mai Hac De between its intersections with Phung Khac Khoan and Ly Nam De, and along a section of Ly Nam De. 

It will feature 150 stalls selling souvenirs, jewellery, fine arts products, fashionable clothes and other goods, plus there will be food and drinks areas.  Once open, the market will operate from 6.00pm to midnight every day.

At Thursday’s PC meeting, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh remarked that the new market is expected to create a combined tourist and shopping space in the inner city, thereby attracting more visitors to the city and encouraging them to extend their stay in the city.

He stressed the need to widely appeal for local traders to register for stands to sell their products at the new market.

Relevant local agencies will assist DHTC Da Nang Co Ltd, the project’s developer, in evaluating investment plans, unveiling reasonable stall rental fees, and ensuring security, environmental sanitation and food safety and hygiene at the market. 

Special attention should be paid to constructing a vehicle parking area and upgrading the wifi systems there.
