Following recent approval by the Da Nang People’s Committee, a power failure response practice will be conducted between 3.00am and 7.00am on 17 September in preparation for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 (AELW) from 6-11 November.

In a hypothetical situation, the Electricity Moderation Room at the Da Nang Power  Company, local 110/22 kV and 22/0.4kV transformer sub-stations, and 22kV medium voltage networks, all fail to operate properly. 

This results in occurring mass power outages at places where events will take place in the framework of AELW 2017 and other related venues. 

Included are the International Media Center (IMC), the Tien Son Sports Arena, Furama Resort, Furama Villas, the Da Nang International Airport, the Management Board of the city’s Administrative Centre, Sheraton Danang Resort, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the city’s Power Company, Central Power Corporation, the municipal Department of Fire Fighting and Prevention, and Vinmec Da Nang Hospital.

The same problem also happens in some areas in Son Tra District, some resorts and hotels along Hoang Sa, families living along Tran Van Du, 2 September, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Nguyen Huu Tho, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Phan Dang Luu, Tran Phu, Bach Dang and Trung Nu Vuong streets, and other nearby areas.

The city’s Power Company will give its clients advance notice for the upcoming practice.
