These items in different languages like Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and French have been seized since 2013 by staff of the Department and local relevant agencies. They showed an incorrect map of Viet Nam without the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, which are integral parts of our national territory. In addition, they also featured contents which are not consistent with Vietnamese habits and customs.
At 7.30am on Wednesday, police officers from the Economic Crime Investigation Division of the Da Nang Department of Police, and traffic police from Lien Chieu District, seized 50,000 packets of 555 cigarettes suspected of having been smuggled.
The seized items were discovered on a truck with registration plate 15C-261.06 on Dam Van Le in the district’s Hoa Minh Ward. They did not have any relevant documents to prove their source of origin.
