Jointly organised by the municipal Youth Union, the local Youth Federation, and the Tien Phong Newspaper, the campaign attracted a total of over 1,200 school pupils, university students, military officers and men, along with youth union members, and others.  Together they donated around 1,000 units of blood.

Da Nang now records the highest number of blood donors in the country.  Last year, a total of over 25,000 units of blood were collected from local young people, which helped to fully meet the demand of the local hospitals for blood to use in emergencies and general treatment.

Currently, the city has a total of over 650 people who are willing to donate their blood whenever a hospital is in need.

Over the past year, some of them donated more than 87 units of blood in total to use in emergencies, which helped to promptly save the lives of many patients suffering from severe diseases.
