On 30 December 2017, 50-year-old Nguyen Manh Hung from Thanh Khe District was rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke, but he was then declared dead after 15 minutes of examination.

A team of talented doctors spent 20 minutes trying to restart the patient’s heart before performing endoscopic surgery on his coronary artery.

This marks the first case in which doctors have saved a stroke victim after they had been declared clinically dead.

After the operation, the patient’s health is now gradually recovering, and he is expected to be released from the hospital over the next few days.

Last year, a British tourist whose right atrium (heart cavity) was punctured in a serious accident was saved after a heart operation at the Da Nang General Hospital.
