Da Nang is targeting to lower its rate of poor families to 1.25% of the city’s total by late this year.

The focus will be made to lift another 550 very poor families out of poverty, and to reduce the number of poor families and others living near the city's poverty threshold by 3,930 and 2,140 respectively.

Special attention will be paid to helping all poor and very poor families build new houses or repair their downgraded ones, or providing them with social housing apartments.

In addition, heed will be on ensuring that all poor and very poor households are able to access basic social services, including healthcare service and education.  Importance will be attached to offering their family members vocational training courses and job opportunities, as well as assisting them to access bank loans at preferential interest rate.

Also, greater efforts will be made to providing needy families with suitable means of livelihood to help them increase their incomes, and enhance their living conditions.
