A discussion of STEM education
On Tuesday, a workshop on promoting the development of STEM education, and innovative startups amongst senior high school pupils took place in Da Nang.
The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang-based Viet Nam-UK Research and Training Institute, and the British Council of the Aston University.
The renewal of STEM education related-training programmes in Viet Nam, the significance of startup programmes in senior high schools, and experience and ways to teach STEM in Viet Nam, and the world as a whole, plus other issues were presented at the event.
STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates the students into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
