Traffic police officers honoured for good deeds

On Thursday, the leaders of the Traffic Police Division of the Da Nang Police Department honoured 3 traffic police officers for returning lost property to owners.

The honourees are Lieutenant Nguyen Huu Nhat Nam from a patrol team, police student Mai Phuoc Thien from the People's Police V Intermediate School, and Captain Nguyen Phan Ngoc Tien from a checkpoint at the approach to Hoa Phuoc Commune.

On 18 February, whilst on duty at the western end of the Han River Bridge, Lieutenant Nam found an iPhone 6, which had been left behind by its owner Nguyen Xuan Tung, a local public servant. One day later, the lost property was returned to its owner.

On 3 June, police student Thien found a leather wallet whilst he was regulating the traffic at the intersection of Bach Dang, Tran Phu, Nguyen Van Linh, 2 September and Trung Nu Vuong streets. The wallet contained over 3 million VND in cash, and some important personal papers with the name of Nguyen Van Bac. Soon after, Thien reported the case to his team’s leader in a bid to return the lost property to its owner.

On 28 June, Captain Tien returned some lost property to it owner, a Japanese tourist.  Previously, the police officer had found a black bag containing a white cell-phone, nearly 2 million VND in cash, 3 bank cards, a passport and other personal papers.
