On Wednesday, the Da Nang Coastal Information Station actively helped fishing boat QNa 91199 TS from Quang Nam Province, which was being at danger at sea, have access to first aid instructions for its distressed crew members.

Earlier on Tuesday, at around 11.00pm, QNa 91199 TS, with a total of 4 crew members onboard, suddenly sank while fishing in the national waters, at about latitude 15°11’N and longitude 110°41’E, about 120 nautical miles southeast of the An Hoa fishing wharf in the province’s Nui Thanh District.

Fortunately, fishermen onboard another boat, coded QNg 91504 TS from Quang Ngai Province, operating nearby the scene, detected and managed to rescue all the distressed victims. However, 2 crew members, namely Pham Thanh Hieu, 30, and Nguyen Huu Phuong, 52, were sick and exhausted.

After receiving an SOS message from the boat’s captain, the Da Nang Coastal Information Station, in a quick fashion, facilitated the distressed boat to contact doctors from the city’s Emergency Centre 115 to ask for first aid instructions to the 2 sick fishermen. Besides, the agency promptly asked searchers and rescuers to give more support for the distressed vessel’s crew members whilst they were brought back to the Ly Son Island off the coast of Quang Ngai Province by QNg 91504 TS.
